Goodbye, baseball. Hello, Cooperstown.

July 19, 2010

I’ve been meaning to post this since last week and all that reminiscing of 1996 that I just did reminded me.

Last week Nike debuted this glorious commercial of Ken Griffey Jr. during the Home Run Derby. It’s absolutely classic and couldn’t have been put together any better. I don’t have to describe it anymore, just watch and remember how awesome “The Kid” was.

Nike’s new Kobe commercial is spectacular

June 3, 2010

Kobe Bryant is going for pure greatness, his fifth championship. To honor this moment and all the great moments of his career, Nike put together this fantastic new ad. It’s not just about Kobe, this commercial brings back some incredible memories. You will be watching this one over and over.

If this commercial doesn’t get you pumped for tonight, then you might want to get checked out by a doctor.

Dropping this Saturday: AJ XI 25th

April 28, 2010

The Nike Air Jordan XI is probably the most popular Air Jordan of all-time. It’s symbolic of Michael Jordan’s return to the NBA in the mid 90′s, it also reminds so many of us of middle school or high school and the good ole’ days.

The shoe is legendary.

When they come out, they sell out…quick!

This Saturday, May 1 the 25th Anniversary Edition of the AJ XI is dropping. Done in all white, these are sure to fly off shelves. Jordan Brand is releasing shoes I-XXV in all white editions to honor 25 years of Jordan.

Take your pop cans back and hit CoinStar, you’re going to need about $150 bucks this Saturday morning for sure!

Here’s another amazing Jordan commercial

November 30, 2009

Every word Jordan says in this commercial is so true. I understand if someone hates Jordan, that’s fine, but you must respect him. This guy is an entity to the game of basketball, he changed the game — completely. As much as meant to the game and as much as it changed because of him, the point of this commercial is truth — MJ worked his ass off to become the legend he is.

So many talented players don’t put in the effort, time and desire to become great, they just sit there with God given talents and let them go to waste, or not reach their potential.

Jordan’s “Failure” Commercial

November 30, 2009

Simply put, this is one of the best Air Jordan commercials of all-time. Brilliantly done, it’s a classic.

Air Jordan Retro XII White/Red – December 19th

November 16, 2009

We’re less than two weeks away from the release of the Nike Air Jordan XII Flu Game, but if you ask me, the better looking Air Jordan XII comes out about a month from now. The ultra smooth Air Jordan XII White/Red will be dropping December 19, six days before the long-awaited and hyped release of the Space Jam XI’s.

These shoes are the best looking of the XII’s if you ask me, but the All-Star blues are a close second. Save your money folks, you only have about a month to get your paper right for two huge releases.

LeBron James and Bernie Mac for Nike

November 9, 2009

It’s kind of scary that LeBron James is already in his seventh season. It’s even scarier that it’s been almost seven years and Darko Milicic still sucks.

Where has the time gone?

Here’s one of LeBron’s first Nike commercials — from 2004 — featuring the late, great Bernie Mac.

Props, Free Darko

Air Jordan 2010 leaked pics

October 9, 2009

The Air Jordan is the standard of basketball shoes. The name, the brand and the shoe have set the tone in the sneaker game for the past twenty-five years. It appears some pictures have leaked of the Air Jordan 2010.

If you ask me, since the Air Jordan XIII, the shoes have pretty much sucked, with a few exceptions (I did like the XX’s). I actually like what I see from these so far. Most Jordans initial release is during All-Star Weekend, so that’s when you should expect these to drop.

“Space Jam” Jordans for Christmas Eve

September 17, 2009

Word spread last month that the Air Jordan XI “Space Jam” would be dropping in November. Incorrect.

According to the good folks over at Kix and the City, the legendary sneaker will actually be released on December 24. They’ll be priced with a higher sticker of $175, but they’re coming in some fancy packaging, so it’ll sucker us all into paying for them.

No matter how broke I am, these will appear under my Christmas tree.
